Can we tell whether a text was written by a human or generated by AI? Several techniques exist, based on AI-detectors, advanced statistical analysis, or even hidden watermarks embedded in the model responses. Yet all of these approaches remain imperfect, often struggling with new models and deliberate attempts to evade detection. The project objectives are to:

- advance the state of the art in AI detection methods

- connect those to legal/regulatory aspects, notably transparency requirements

- and explore how AI detection methods may affect the use of AI tools in various settings, notably in education.
