Human agency and learning in AI-enhanced collaboration (TeamLearn AI)

TeamLearnAI explores how students and teams learn when generative AI becomes part of the process — not merely a tool, but a thinking partner. We examine how AI-powered, adaptive feedback shapes individual and group learning across disciplines such as law, medicine and education. The study's central focus is understanding what human and non-human agency — and their interplay — look like once AI-generated feedback is woven into human activity.
What makes this novel is our empirical, real-world focus: rather than speculating about AI's potential, we test how students actually engage with AI feedback, how their thinking and collaboration change, and who remains "in control" of learning when AI is involved.
Our dream outcome is a validated model, combining a reflection-based training method with an AI-enhanced dashboard. In practice, this means universities could adopt a ready-to-use platform that that gives students tailored, discipline-specific feedback and supports their critical thinking and study progression.
